About This Work

Inside the Matrix: a tango with light was a solo exhibition at Conny Dietzschold Gallery, Sydney, with an essay by Sean Redmond.

The exhibition explores the internal processes of photography — the relationship between light, lens, and sensor — as a tango between artist and technology. Wilson's digital pinhole photographs capture the dance of light within the camera itself, creating abstract compositions that reveal the hidden mechanics of the photographic act.

The title references both the digital matrix of pixels that compose a digital photograph and the physical matrix of the camera's sensor, drawing parallels between technological and bodily processes of perception.
