About This Work
Seeking not Looking was a solo exhibition at Mars Gallery, Melbourne, curated by Brie Trenerry.
The exhibition explores the distinction between active seeking and passive looking — the idea that artistic practice demands a mode of attention that goes beyond mere visual consumption. Through photographic and video works, the installation invites viewers to engage with the act of perception itself.
Using her signature approach of moving the body and camera in unison, Wilson creates images that dissolve the boundary between subject and object, inviting the viewer into a state of heightened visual awareness.
