Vacant Geelong was a creative exploration of Geelong’s industrial identity and its vacated industrial sites, led by Mirjana Lozanovska in Deakin University’s School of Architecture and Built Environment. Anne Scott Wilson was part of the group of researchers, architects and artists.
The group researched with local communities, running workshops where architects, artists and locals reimagined the city through shared making, to start conversations and inspire imagination. A symposium at the National Wool Museum brought architects and locals together to reimagine Geelong.
The researchers curated and showed work in Iconic Industry at the National Wool Museum, made work for Geelong After Dark, and published the book Iconic Industry: Exploring the Industrial Built Fabric of Geelong, in which Anne Scott Wilson and Cameron Bishop wrote a chapter.
