Forest of Gestures

2012 · Video and live performance · With Alexandra Harrison

Forest of Gestures is a short video work and live performance capturing people in their rapid trajectories through busy urban spaces. It attempts to pause and reflect on the excesses of action, and to create space in movement for alternative and unexpected future possibilities.

The work was made in response to the dancer and choreographer Alexandra Harrison, during her time as Dancehouse’s Housemate artist in residence, and was presented at Dancehouse, Melbourne, with support from the Australia Council for the Arts.
